Dark Journey in the Night

from The Soft Touch of Morning Light by Michael Stearns

/

about

“Dark Passage in the Night” was recorded while Michael played for a class of movement meditators and dancers at Emilie Conrad’s CONTINUUM studio in Los Angeles. The Serge Synthesizer he plays on this recording belonged to Kevin Braheny. Kevin was also a resident musician at CONTINUUM and introduced Michael to the Serge and patching/programming a modular synthesizer. Along with the Serge on this recording, Michael played “The Beam”. The music was recorded directly to two tracks of a TEAC 3340 reel to reel tape recorder.
